Lombardy has hosted the second edition of the World Regions Forum (WRF) in Milan, Lombardy, on 28th, 29th 30th September 2011. The meeting has been dedicated to the theme “Multilevel governance and civil society for innovation and growth”. The plenary of the political leaders has taken place on Friday 30th and has been preceded by thematic workshops on business and innovation (28th September), researchers' mobility (29th September morning), cancer care and biobanks, environment and water resources (29th September in parallel).
20 leading subnational governments from all over the world have been invited to gather in Milan to carry on the consultation about innovative ways to encourage innovation in the light of global challenges and in a multi-level system of power, and to foster thematic cooperation networks.
